MAINTENANCE
REPLACING THE DIFFERENTIAL GEAR
OIL
• Stop the engine and allow each part of
the machine to cool down before
performing maintenance.
· The differentials are hot immediately
after the engine is stopped. Touching
them will cause burns.
· The gear oil is also hot and under high
pressure immediately after the engine
is stopped.
Be careful not to touch the oil when
loosening the plugs. Working on the
machine under these conditions could
result in burns or injuries.
• The pressure in the gear case of
differentials may cause oil or the plug to
fly out. Loosen the plug slowly to
release the pressure.
1. Park the machine on a level surface and
stop the engine.

2. Place a pan under the plug (2) to catch the
waste oil.
3. Remove the plug (2) and drain the oil.
4. Tighten the plug (2).
·
Tightening torque: 50 N·m (36.9 ft-lb.)
5. Add oil through the hole of the plug (1)
until the oil flows from the hole.
6. Tighten the plug (1).
·
Tightening torque: 50 N·m (36.9 ft-lb.)
