MAINTENANCE
EVERY 500 HOURS
REPLACING THE FUEL FILTER
• Do not smoke or permit open flames
while handling fuel or working on the
fuel system.
• Stop the engine in a well-ventilated
place and allow it to cool down before
performing maintenance.
• Clean up spilled fuel immediately.

EVERY 500 HOURS
5. Install the new filter by hand.
6. Tighten one more turn after the filter
packing comes in contact with the surface
of installation. (Torque when tightening
with filter wrench: 19.6 to 23.5 N·m or 14
to 17ft-lb.)
7. Bleed the air.
Refer to “Bleeding air from the fuel
system” on page 6-8.

1. Open the engine hood.
2. Turn the filter (1) counterclockwise with the
filter wrench and remove it.
3. Clean the surface of installation of the filter
stand.
4. Apply a thin layer of oil on the packing of
the new filter.
