Wireless & networks
This is used to configure Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and mobile
data and switch them on and off. You can enable/dis-
able data roaming and configure VPN.
Wi-Fi settings
automatically scans for Wi-Fi networks
which are within range. Tap one of the entries to make
a connection. Most Wi-Fi networks are password pro-
tected and you will need to know the password. This is
shown by a lock icon. When the connection is made
the settings are saved and the tw700 will automatically
reconnect when this network is within range again.
You are also shown a list of already known Wi-Fi net-
works which are currently not in range.
Mobile networks
is used enable/disable mobile data
usage and mobile data roaming and to make settings
for the mobile network.
The tw700 normally sets up the mobile data connec-
tion and SMS/MMS access information automatically
using up-to-date information from network operators
and information from your SIM card. If this does not
work, contact your mobile phone operator for infor-
mation on the access point name (APN) and the other
settings which are required. You may need a separate
APN entry for mobile data and for SMS/MMS.
To avoid excessive data costs, check that you are using
the right APN for the chosen data tariff.
Call settings
Use this to set up services such as voice mail and call
forwarding. Call forwarding is used to redirect the
phone call to another phone number. For example,
you can redirect incoming calls to your mobile voice
mail when your tw700 is out of range. Ask your mobile
phone operator for the correct voice mail phone
number to use.
When you tap Call forwarding, the tw700 checks your
phone operator’s server for the current redirection set-
tings. Your tw700 needs to be in range to do this.
Sound
This lets you setup ringtones for phone calls and noti-
fications and adjust the ringtone volume.
Display
This configures the screen brightness and the duration
for the screen timeout, both which affect how much
power is taken from the battery.
Location and security
This selects which sources to use to determine the de-
vice’s location. You can also set the optional screen
lock, SIM card PIN and manage the device’s security
credentials.
