to ON, the input levels are automatically adjusted to

3. Adjustment 

3.1 Ring Stage Adjustment 

To avoid detection errors, inspect the position of the ring stage periodically. If mounting nuts 

are loose, check the mounting dimensions of the sample shelf and bottom plate. Adjust the 

dimensions shown in Fig. 13 and tighten the nuts. 

From the top of the ring holder

According to ASTM D36, the bottom of the shouldered rings in the ring holder shall be 25 

mm above the upper surface of the bottom plate. ASP-5 is using photoelectric detection 

system. If the light beam is passed just above the bottom plate, reflected beam from the 

bottom plate disturb the correct detection. The axis of light beam of ASP-5 is passing 5 mm 

above the upper surface of the bottom plate. So, ASP-5 detects ball falls 25 mm below the 

bottom of the shouldered rings.
