6. MAINTENANCE
When not using the Multi Shear, always make sure that it is left fully closed. Pivot points should be greased at regular intervals via the grease nipples.
Always disconnect all hydraulic lines and close the Multi Shear fully before carrying out any maintenance.
The Multi Shear blades must be kept sharp. Always wear protective clothing, and always use heavy gloves when working on the blades. In normal operation, the blades should only
require sharpening if they are damaged. Re-sharpening must only be done with a file. Do not use a portable grinding machine as this will overheat the blades and reduce their
sharpness. If damage to the blades is severe, seek advice from your Tanco dealer.
The Multi Shear should be regularly checked for any signs of corrosion or leakage or other damage. This check should include all moving parts, hydraulic components, and the tightness
of all fittings, particularly the tines in the main structure.
Before using the Multi Shear, always check that it is clean and that all moving parts are free from obstruction.
