SNMP Trap Host
identifies the IP-address of
the SNMP manager. SNMP (Simple Network
Management Protocol, SNMP Ver 1) is used for
monitoring and configuring of different entities
in a network. The system’s SNMP Agent
responds to requests from SNMP Managers (a
PC program etc.). SNMP traps are generated
by the agent to inform the manager about
important events.
Traps can be sent to multiple SNMP Trap
Hosts. Enter the IP address of up to three
SNMP managers. All traps will then be sent to
the hosts listed.
SNMP Community
names are used to
authenticate SNMP requests. SNMP requests
must have a ‘password’ in order to receive a
response from the SNMP agent in the codec.
Note that the SNMP Community name is case
sensitive. The default password is
public
.
