4.5 Audio Features
4.5.1 Audio levelling/ Automatic Gain Control (AGC)
The TANDBERG MCU’s Automatic audio levelling feature
Automatic Gain Control
(AGC)
will ensure that the audio sent out to all sites in the conference is at the same level.
4.5.2 Telephone
Noise
Suppression
Connecting normal mobile telephones to a conference, normally introduces noticeable noise. To
filter out this type of noise, the TANDBERG MCU has a special noise suppression algorithm
implemented.
4.5.3 Custom
Sounds
The TANDBERG MCU has a variety of sounds that may be changed by storing new files on the
FTP file system of the MCU. Ref. Ch.5 for details.
4.5.3.1.1 Welcome sound
When endpoints are entering a conference, they will be greeted with a default welcome sound. It
is possible to customize this welcome sound by storing a WAV-file in the system. (It is possible
to disable this feature when setting up a conference).
4.5.3.1.2 Password sound
When endpoints are entering a conference that is password protected, they will be asked to
insert their password. It is possible to customize this password sound by storing a WAV-file in
the system.
4.5.4 Entry/Exit
tones
The MCU will give clear sound indication to endpoints entering and exiting the conference.
When a site is entering the conference, all participants will hear the entry tone. When a site is
exiting the conference, all sites still in the conference will hear the exit tone. (It is possible to
disable this feature when setting up a conference).
4.5.5 Muting of audio
The MCU administrator is able to mute the audio from any of the connected sites during a
conference. It is also possible for each site to mute its microphone. Clear indication that the
microphone is muted will be shown on the screen of the relevant site as well as on the MCU
web administator page.
