The unit has a Technical Earth terminal (marked ) located at the rear
panel (See Figure 2.3). Its use is recommended. This is NOT a Protective
Earth for electric shock protection. The terminal is provided to:
1. Ensure all equipment chassis fixed within a rack are at the same
technical earth potential. To do this, connect a wire between the
Technical Earth terminal and a suitable point on the rack.
2. Eliminate the migration of stray charges when connecting between
equipment.

Connecting the Equipment to the AC Power Supply
As there is no mains switch fitted to this unit, ensure the local ac power
supply is switched OFF before connecting the supply cord.
Connect the supply cord to the Modulator and then to the local supply.

AC Power Supply Cord
General
A two-metre mains supply cord is supplied with this product. It is fitted
with a moulded plug suitable for either the USA, UK, mainland Europe or
Australia/New Zealand as advised at the time of ordering.
NOTE...
The Modulator is not fitted with an ac power supply ON/OFF switch. Ensure the socket-outlet
supplying the Modulator is installed near the unit so that it is easily accessible.
Wire Colours
The wires in the supply cord are coloured as shown in Table 2.2.

If the colours do not correspond with the coloured markings identifying the
terminals in a locally supplied plug, proceed as in Table 2.3. The inclusion
of Table 2.3 is for reference.
