The Carnival heater produces radiant heat like the sun, warming people and objects and not the air in between, providing the only form of
heat that will not blow out or away. The Carnival heater is primarily designed for indoor use but can be used outside providing it is situated
under an appropriate canopy.
Please read the enclosed instructions carefully before use. The safety of this heater is guaranteed only by the correct usage in
accordance with these instructions, therefore it is recommended that they are retained for future reference.

Before using this appliance:
- Check that the voltage indicated on the type plate corresponds to the mains supply voltage.
- Ensure that the heater has been securely fastened in its final mounting position.
Do not locate the heater immediately below a socket outlet.
Remove the plug from the mains socket during installation, cleaning and/or replacing the emitter. Always ensure
that the emitter is cool.
Do not handle the halogen emitter with bare hands. If it is inadvertently touched, remove finger marks with a lint-
free soft cloth and methylated spirit or alcohol. Otherwise, the finger marks will burn into the quartz glass of the
emitter causing premature heater failure.
Do not use an extension lead with this product.
Keep the mains cable away from the body of the heater which will get hot during use.
Do not cover or obstruct the heater while it is in use.

Keep combustible materials such as furniture, papers, clothes and curtains at least 1.8m (6 feet) from the front of the

The Carnival heater is fitted with 5.0 metres of supply cord and a moulded plug, therefore the terminals should not be interfered with.
We recommend using a RCD where applicable.
If the supply cord becomes damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or a similar qualified person in
order to avoid a hazard.
The Carnival heater is primarily designed for indoor use and is not waterproof but can be used outside under an appropriate
canopy providing the ‘minimum distance from ceiling’ in table is adhered to. When the electrical connection is outside, it is
recommended that a waterproof socket is used for the connection/terminal. Otherwise, the plug should be connected to a socket
indoors.
If in any doubt, please contact a suitably qualified electrician.
M o u n t i n g
Always remove the plug from the mains socket when adjusting the angular position.
Allow the heater to cool before attempting to reposition/move. Never attempt to move the heater while it is switched on.
The heater must be mounted in such a way that the halogen emitter does not slant more than 4° from the horizontal.
Observe the minimum safe distance between the heater body and inflammable surfaces when mounting.
Please refer to Table 1 for the recommended positioning of the heater.
Keep out of the reach of children.
Do not position the heater at an angle of less than 45° from the rear wall and more than 90° (see Fig. A) i.e. do not angle directly
downwards!
Do not position this heater near to furniture or curtains as this could present a fire hazard.
Securely fasten the heater wall bracket to the mounting surface using the fixing holes in the wall bracket.
Note: wall fixings not supplied.
Fix in the required angular position by tightening the fixing bolt on the bracket at the rear of the heater.
The bracket can be used to adjust the direction of the heater up and down (see Fig. B) and side to side (see Fig. C). This is done
by loosening the bolts fixing the heater to the bracket, and then retightening once the correct position is achieved.
