Timer recordings with VideoPlus®
This system makes programming timer recordings ex-
tremely easy. Most TV guides publish VideoPlus pro-
gram numbers in addition to information on TV pro-
grams. If you would like to record a program using the
timer record function, you simply enter the relevant
VideoPlus program number into the recorder. The
date, start, finish and channel settings are adopted
automatically. However, you have to configure the
destination of the recording and the recording quality
and specify whether it is a one-off or repeat recording.
The recorder can store a maximum of 32 timer pro-
grams.

1. Press the VIDEO+ button to open the VideoPlus
menu.
Press RETURN to exit the menu.
2. Enter the VideoPlus program number via the nu-
merical buttons.

If you make a mistake, you will need to enter
the number again.

to select the desti-
nation (HDD, DVD).

to select the re-
cording quality (HQ, SP, LP, etc.).

to define the repeat-
ing frequency (once, daily, etc.).
6. Press ENTER.
7. The channel mapping screen opens. Enter the
number of the TV channel. Press the ENTER but-
ton to finish programming.
8. The timer recording list appears so that you can
check your programs on timer record. The display
"Valid" in the timer recording list indicates that e-
verything has been programmed correctly.
9. Press RETURN to exit the timer recording menu.
10. Press the POWER button on the remote control to
switch the unit to standby mode.

:
The channel map is saved and is therefore only
required once for each program. You can
change the settings at any time in the "Channel
Mapping" setup menu (page 23).
Editing a timer recording
You can check or edit your programming selections
when the recorder is switched on.
1. Press the TIMER button. The timer recording list
appears.

to select a timer recording.
•
Press ENTER to edit the selected recording,
the editing menu opens. The following options
are available:
•
[Edit] The input line for editing the data opens.
•
[Delete] For deleting the selected recording
from the list.
•
[Disable] For disabling the selected recording in
the list.
•
[Cancel] For exiting the editing menu.
Stopping a timer recording while in progress
You can always stop a timer recording after it has star-
ted.

Timer recording - troubleshooting
The recorder will not record under the following condi-
tions when the timer is set:
•
You have not inserted a disc or there is not enough
hard disk memory available.
•
A non-recordable disc is inserted.
•
When the option [Disc Protection] is activated in the
setup menu (see page 24).
