Remember that not all options may be available,
depending on the buss function that is currently
selected.
9.2 External effects
As well as being routed to the internal effects, the
aux busses can also be routed to external devices.
For analog devices, the
GROUP OUTPUTS/AUX
SENDS
should be used. If the external effect’s
returns are routed through input channels 1–8, equal-
ization, etc. may be used on these signals.
For digital devices, follow the procedure described in
“Connecting a 2-track recorder” on page 14 to assign
the aux busses to the digital outputs. The digital
returns are assigned as described in “Using digital
effect returns” on page 15.
9.3 Setting aux send levels
Follow the procedure below to send channel signals
to the AUX busses:

Press the
PARAM SEL
key until the
AUX
indi-
cator above it lights in green.

Select the channel to be edited by pressing
the
CH SEL
key (in the example below, the
effect pattern with four separate aux sends
has been chosen).

Use the four data editing knobs under the
display to change the value of the aux sends
for the selected channel.

View and change the assignments of the aux
sends as pre- and post-fader sends by turning
the
DATA ENTRY
knob clockwise:

Use the data editing knobs under the display
to change these values.

Continue selecting channels with the
CH SEL
keys until you have set all the aux levels.
Operating Tip
To change all the aux sends from pre-fader to
post-fader, go into the
Option Setup
sub-menu and select the
All Ch Aux
Pre/Post
sub-menu, and then select
pre-fader or post-fader for the aux sends of all
channels.
9.4 Selecting the effect to use
When you have set up the routing for the effects, you
can select the effect units to use.
