Engine Oil & Filter Change
Change the engine oil and filter every 10,000 km or six months, whichever comes
first. If the vehicle is operated in sandy/dusty conditions, idled extensively,
subject to frequent short distance driving, change the engine oil and filter more
frequently.
NOTE
Changing the engine oil and filter requires access to the
underside of the vehicle. Use a hoist or a changing pit to change
the engine oil and filter.
To preserve the environment, recycle used oil at appropriate outlets.
Never use reclaimed oil.

Use the following procedure to change the engine oil and filter:
WARNING
Engine oil will be hot! Contact with hot engine oil will cause burns.
Use care when handling hot engine oil.
Run the engine until normal operating temperature is reached.
Stop the engine, apply the parking brake, and open the bonnet.
Remove the engine oil fill cap.
From underneath the vehicle, remove the oil sump pan drain plug and
drain the oil in a suitable container for disposal.
Wipe the sump drain plug clean and apply MAXIFIX sealant or equivalent
to the drain plug.
Re-install the drain plug in the oil sump pan with a new sealing gasket.
Tighten the drain plug to 34 Nm.
