MAINTENANCE AND CARE – Engine Cooling System
ENGINE COOLING SYSTEM
Checking Coolant Level
Check the level of engine coolant in the coolant reservoir each time the engine
oil level is checked. The coolant reservoir is located on the right side of the
engine compartment. The coolant level must be between the minimum (Min.) and
maximum (Max.) marks on the coolant reservoir.
WARNING
Coolant is poisonous to humans and animals. Use care when
handling coolant, otherwise death or injury may occur.
Never loosen or remove the coolant reservoir cap while the
engine cooling system is still hot. Removing the reservoir cap
may allow hot coolant or steam to escape, causing severe burns
Do not top up coolant in concentrated condition.
Pre-mixed coolant beyond 50% will cause coolant system to
malfunction..

Adding Coolant
Add coolant only when the cooling system has cooled sufficiently (approximately
two hours after vehicle use). The engine crankcase and coolant reservoir cap must
cool enough to touch before adding coolant. Use only approved brands (Sunstar,
Anchemco, HPCL) of 50/50 pre-mixed coolant in the engine cooling system. This
reduces cooling system corrosion and protects the engine down to temperatures
of - 40° C.
Use of non-approved coolant may cause corrosion of the cooling system
components and void the vehicle warranty.
To add coolant, slowly and carefully remove the coolant reservoir cap and add
coolant until the level is at the maximum (Max.) mark on the reservoir.
