VERTICAL TOWED MIXER - TWO AUGERS
MV-30D SERIES
PREPARATION OF THE MIXTURE
The main element for the preparation of the mixture are the augers, or the two
augers, installed inside the tub, which have the mission, in addition to chopping the
product, of the continuous circulation of the ingredients, avoiding its accumulation in
certain parts of the tub, till an homogeneous mixture is obtained.
If during the preparation of the mixture more fiber has been introduced than
recommended, the operation of the machine will not be correct, producing:
a) Absorption of excessive power.
b) Mixing with difficulty.
c) Longer mixing time.
d) Mixer overloads, leading to breakage.
In view of the previous mentioned, the operator is recommended to respect the
following standards at all times:
• During the preparation of the mixture, more product ca
n be added as long as the
materials circulate correctly, and the machine is not observed to be overloaded.
• In the event of an auger jam, it will be necessary to follow the general
recommendations
General recommendations:
1. The behavior of the mixer varies according to the types of ingredients mixed and
their quantities, so in each case, you must acquire a practice and an experience.
2. First introduce dry by-products, then flours or concentrates, then the silage (when it
has a lot of fiber, insert silage or wet products that weigh the fiber a little), and finally
fibers (straw, alfalfa).
3. When the fibrous products to be introduced are rubbery, (according to practical
experience in each case), it is recommended to first introduce dry matter, (cottonseed,
concentrates, granules, etc.), so that the auger is not empty when introducing fibers.
4. Do not overload the mixer and avoid fast loading of high resistance fibrous products.
5. It is preferable, depending on the products being mixed, to make one more mixture
every day than overloading the machine. For its correct operation, the machine has
been designed to operate at a certain working regime and a load capacity, which if
exceeded, causes loss of time and unnecessary power consumption.
6. If for any reason the mixer drive stops with the machine loaded (due to the end of
the task, due to excess mixing, etc.), re-start it smoothly and not abruptly, try to get a
progressivestart.
