Procedures before the plantation
Ideal working speed
PST PLUS planter works with higher efficiency from 5 to 7 Km/h.
• Only fill up the planter on the work station.
• Do not transit with load excess over the planter.
Working preparation
NOTE
To obtain an amount of 50,000 plants per hectare in the cultivation, whose seeds
contain:
Germination index = 95%
Physical purity = 90
Slippage index = 1.03 (3%)
The following calculation should be made to know how many seeds should be
distributed in a hectare.
Seeds/ha in the plantation = 0.95 x 0.90 = 0.855
50,000 = 58,479.53 x 1.03 =
60,233.91

To know the amount of seeds per meter, per 10 meters and so on, calculate how many
linear meters of rows exist in a hectare, in the desired spacing (0.85 m).
Example: 10.000 = 11764.70 linear meters, so: 60,233.91 =
5.1198
0.85 m 11,764.7

seeds per meter.
Before starting the plantation, make a general inspection on the equipment. Retighten
all bolts and nuts and check the condition of all pins and cotter pins, avoiding future damages.
Repeat this operation after the first day of work.
• Check the correct inflation on every tire of the planter.
• Also check if there is no strange object inside the hoppers, which may damage the
metering mechanisms.
• Lubricate all grease fittings appropriately.
When planting corn, operate on a speed range from 5 to 5.5 km/h.
It is necessary to keep a constant speed during the whole job.
