CABLE COMPARTMENT
This appliance has a cable compartment situated
on its underside (F)
PRACTICAL RECOMMENDATIONS:
Classify the garments into groups by ironing tem-
perature. The appliance heats up more quickly
than it cools down, therefore, to avoid accidents,
minimise energy consumption and optimise time,
it is advisable to start o
ff
ironing items that requi-
re lower temperatures and progress to those that
need higher temperatures.
Pure wool fabrics (100%) can be ironed with the
iron set to steam. Select a high steam temperature
and place a cotton cloth between the iron’s metal
surface and the garment.
CLEANING
Disconnect the appliance from the mains and allow
it to cool before undertaking any cleaning task.
Clean the equipment with a damp cloth with a few
drops of washing-up liquid and then dry.
Do not use solvents, or products with an acid or
base pH such as bleach, or abrasive products, for
cleaning the appliance.
Never submerge the appliance in water or any
other liquid or place it under running water.
HOW TO DEAL WITH LIME SCALE INCRUSTA-
TIONS:
For the appliance to work correctly it should be
kept free of limescale or magnesium incrustations
caused by the use of hard water.
To avoid this kind of problem it is advisable to use
distilled water.
However, if it is not possible to use the kind of wa-
ter recommended above, you should periodically
remove the limescale from the appliance:
Every 6 weeks if the water is “very hard”.
Every 12 weeks if the water is “hard”.
When the descaling indicator (R) lights up
red
Never carry out this procedure if the appliance is
hot or plugged into the mains (wait at least 2 hours
after use).
Homemade solutions, such as the use of vinegar,
or commercial products are not recommended in
the descaling treatments of the appliance.
CLEANING THE SOLEPLATE
For optimum life of the iron, it is recommended to
clean the soleplate every 2 months.
Add 500ml of decalci
fi
ed water to the tank.
Turn on the appliance at maximum temperature
level and wait for 5 minutes.
Use a thick piece of fabric on the ironing table.
Press the steam trigger constantly and at the
same time pass the iron over the fabric with back-
and-forth movements until there is no water left or
no steam comes out.
Switch o
ff
the appliance and let it cool down for at
least 2 hours.
Rinse the water tank.
CLEANING THE BOILER
Check that appliance has cooled down (wait at
least 2 hours after disconnecting the appliance).
First empty the water tank (H) and then the boiler.
To empty the boiler, unscrew the anti-scale drain
plug (E) anticlockwise.
Empty the boiler (tilt the appliance to let all the wa-
ter drain out of it), add a little cold water and rinse
the boiler tank and empty it again.
When you have
fi
nished, close the cap by screwing
it on in the opposite way to the opening movement.
Fill the water tank to the MAX level.
Switch on the appliance (in maximum steam iro-
ning position) and wait for 3 minutes.
Let the appliance go into auto-o
ff
mode (after 10
minutes).
Switch o
ff
and unplug the appliance.
Wait for the appliance to cool down, rinse the wa-
ter tank and the boiler again with cold water.
