Caution:
Unplug the sewing machine if you:
•
change the needle,
•
thread the needle,
•
change the presser foot,
•
change the bobbin,
•
intend to insert or remove the
embroidery/darning throat plate
•
interrupt your work and leave the
sewing machine unattended.
If you are not sure whether the settings
are correct, try them out on a piece of
fabric.
Whenever you change to a different
kind of stitch, always raise the needle to
its highest position.
Make sure you insert the fabric far
enough under the presser foot.
Leave about 10 cm of both top and
bottom threads hanging to the rear.
Hold on to both top and bottom threads
during the first two or three stitches so
that the thread feeds properly.
Press the foot pedal - the more you
press down on the pedal the faster the
needle sews.
While sewing, guide the fabric gently
with your hand.
At the end of a seam backstitch a little
to tie off the thread.
Remove the detachable sewing table
when you want to do free-arm sewing
(e.g., sleeves, trouser legs).
After sewing, always return the needle
to its highest position. Raise the presser
foot, pull the fabric out from the rear,
and cut the threads with the built-in
thread cutter.
