Setting the stitch length
Set the stitch length using the stitch
length dial:
Setting "1"
= short stitch
Setting "4"
= long stitch
Please note:
The fabric is not fed in if you
select the "0" setting.
Setting the stitch type
Set the type of stitch with the stitch
selector. The chosen stitch is shown in
the stitch display.
Before you set or change the type of
stitch, turn the hand wheel towards you
until the needle is at its highest posi-
tion.
Please note:
•
The stitch settings B and S1/B are
used for straight stitching on the
right-hand fabric edge!
•
The best results are obtained with
120 thread.
Setting the presser foot pres-
sure
Select a presser foot pressure appro-
priate for the kind of fabric. Too low a
pressure can cause poor fabric feed or
missing stitches. Too high a pressure
can damage the fabric.
Either turn the presser foot pressure
screw towards
--
for low pressure (heavy material
such as leather or tweed)
ortowards
+
+ for high pressure (lightweight
fabrics, darning).
