Triple straight stitch and triple zig-
zag stitch
Both stitches can be used for knitted
and stretch materials, as well as for
heavy fabrics.
Triple zig-zag stitching is particularly
useful for stretchy seams that are
subjected to heavy use.
Blindhemming
For "invisible" hems on curtains, trou-
sers, dresses, etc.
Hemming requires a certain amount of
experience. It is best to practise first on
a spare piece of fabric.
1. Attach the buttonholing foot (see the
section "Changing the foot").
2. Fold the fabric so that the wrong side
is facing upwards.
3. Place the folded fabric under the
foot.
4. Turn the hand wheel to the front
until the needle is located on the left.
The needle is in the correct position
when it can just enter the fold (see
diagram). If the needle cannot enter
the fold or reaches too far across it,
correct the stitch width accordingly.
5. Adjust the fabric feed by means of
the nut on the blindhemming foot so
that the foot is on the fold.
6. Sew slowly and guide the fabric
evenly over the feed dog.
