3. Once a cable has been created and used in an article it can be modified. The cable builder will then
show a section of the screen to note the articles that it is used in (see Figure 29).
NOTE
A cable can be modified, but only if it is NOT used to define an article.
4. Once a cable has been created, it is also possible to copy the cable so that it can be used as a
starting point for the creation of another cable.
5. If the cable that has been created needs to be modified and defines the article, perform these steps:
a. Add a new cable,CABLE 2, to the existing article, as described above.
b. Edit the original cable
(see Section D., “Editing a cable”, below)
.
c. Save the original cable to the article.
d. Delete CABLE 2 from the article, so that only the newly modified, original cable defines the article.
Editing a cable
1. Choose either a default cable or article that is loaded on the machine, or a cable or article that had
been previously created.
2. Choose the layer you want to edit by highlighting it in the Component Selector. Change the type,
color, or diameter as desired. Press the Edit Layer icon and edit accordingly.
3. Select the pencil button to confirm the entry.
Importing/downloading Article or Cable via USB flash-drives
Articles and associated cables can be downloaded to USB flash-drives and then uploaded to different HV-
CP machines. This backup allows you to save all of your process parameters for this article. The files can
also be emailed and saved to other USB flash-drives, allowing for quick transfer of programs from
machine to machine.
1. To save an Article and Cable to a USB flash drive, navigate to the Article Database tab by selecting
‘Maintenance’ from the control panel
.
2. Select the dropdown menu to choose the article you want to download to your USB flash-drive.
