2. Above
the “Mandrel Assembly” circled in Figure 3
6, the core diameter is displayed. This value is
equal to the diameter of the inner insulation.
3. When selecting a mandrel assembly, rather than using the one that was automatically selected by the
machine, the user can choose the one they need using the drop-down menu (see Figure 36).
CAUTION
Selecting the wrong mandrel assembly may result in damage to the machine or tooling.
4. It is possible to have long strip lengths build up and potentially clog the vacuum system. Users can
utilize an option to minimize this condition, called Bites. Bites cut the segment up into segments equal
to the strip length for that operation. The number of bites chosen will be divided evenly and equal the
total strip length. Bites parameter can be found under the advanced settings for all Insulation and
braid cuts (see Figure 37).

5. Under the advanced settings on the final insulation wayback step, the user can elect to have a partial
pull rather than a complete pull. This means the machine will not pull the inner insulation off the
conductor completely. The amount of separation between the inner insulation and the cut piece of
scrap will be equal to the length under this setting (see Figure 38).
