Settings are stored almost permanently, even when power is
turned off and the unit is unplugged.
If you want to initialize the settings, do as follows;
1. Turn the unit off.
2. With holding down the STOP button, press the POWER
switch.
All the settings in the Setup menu will be reset to the default
settings.

How to initialize the settings
Expert (default):
You can access all the settings.
Basic:
Your access is limited to commonly used settings. An
information bar appears to give you short explanation of the
currently highlighted option.

Audio DRC (Dynamic Range Controlling)
In many listening situations, you may find loud passages
objectionable. Adjusting this setting allows you to compress
the sounds into a range that you may find more suitable for a
particular listening situation. Dolby Digital satisfies these
needs through the dynamic range controlling.
Select on or off to fit the individual listening situation of the
audience.
Off (default) :
Audio with uncompressed dynamic range.
On :
Audio with compressed dynamic range.

This function is effective only when playing back a DVD disc
recorded with Dolby Digital. This control has no effect on other
discs.

The effect of Audio DRC varies depending on your amplifier
and speakers.

This function has effect on both analog and digital output. If
you want to use this function with digital output, set "Dolby
Digital Out" to "Dolby Digital-PCM", and "Digital Out" to "On".
Dolby Digital (default):
Select this when the unit is connected to an audio component
equipped with a built-in Dolby Digital decoder via the DIGITAL
OUT terminal.

PCM:
Select this when the unit is connected to an audio component
such as CD recorder or MD deck via the DIGITAL OUT
terminal. Dolby Digital signal is converted to PCM.
