Select “Auto” when the unit is connected to a device with an
HDMI terminal. The format recommended by the receiving
side is automatically selected.
Do not select “Auto” when the unit is connected to a device
using an HDMI-DVI conversion cable.
When the HDMI terminal is connected to a television or monitor,
select the proper HDMI video output format.
Each time the HDMI MODE button is pressed, the HDMI
video output setting changes.

You can also use the HDMI button on the remote control unit
to turn ON (the format selected by the HDMI MODE button
on the main unit) or OFF the HDMI video output.

When the HDMI output is on, even if progressive scan has
been selected for the component video outputs, an interlaced
signal is output from the COMPONENT VIDEO terminals.

If the television or monitor is equipped only with a DVI
terminal, a suitable adaptor cable or adaptors should be used.
Note that a television or monitor connected in this way must
be HDCP compliant.
Also note that this DVI-HDMI connection outputs no sound.
