Connection with a stereo
amplifier/receiver
LINE (ANALOG) IN/OUT jacks
Connect the amplifier to the LINE IN/OUT
jacks using the pin-plug cord (provided),
making sure to match the color-coded
plugs to the appropriate jacks on the
components — white to white (L), and red
to red (R).

Be sure to insert each plug securely. To
prevent hum and noise, do not bundle the
connection cords with the power cord or
speaker cord.
DIGITAL IN 1/OUT terminals
Use these terminals to connect the deck to
a digital component (such as a CD player,
DAT deck, digital amplifier, or another MD
deck).

Use a digital optical (TOS) cable
(optional) for digital recording. Connect
the [DIGITAL IN 2] jack located on the
front panel to a digital component such
as a DAT/MD deck.

When making a digital connection,
remove the caps from the terminals.
When the terminals are not in use, leave
the caps in place.

Notes on power sources
Before operating the deck, check that the
operating voltage of the deck is identical to
your local power supply. The operating
voltage is indicated on the nameplate at the
rear panel of the deck.

Power cord
Be sure to connect the power cord to an AC
outlet which supplies the correct voltage.
