Main unit parts and functions
A
STANDBY/ON switch
Use this to put the unit into standby mode or turn it on.
o
If the display is off even though the STANDBY/ON switch is
set to ON, the cause is usually one of the following.
o
The power is on, but DIMMER (display brightness) is set to
AUTO OFF (page 26).
o
The automatic power saving function has activated, put-
ting the unit into standby (page 27).
o
The power cord is disconnected.
o
The unit is in standby because of the trigger function
(page 10).
To turn the unit on when the automatic power saving
function has activated, putting the unit into standby, press
the STANDBY/ON button on the remote control, or set the
STANDBY/ON switch to STANDBY once and then back to ON.

Disc tray
Load a disc here.
C
CLOCK indicator
This shows the clock synchronization status.
Lit:
The unit is currently synchronized with the clock
from the CLOCK sync input (10MHz IN) connector.
Blinking: No clock is being input, or the unit is trying to syn-
chronize with the clock signal.
Unlit:
External clock is not being used.

Tray open/close (

Press this to open and close the disc tray.

Remote control signal receiver
This receives signals from the remote control. When operat-
ing the remote control, point it at the remote control signal
receiver.

Connect headphones (with a standard 6.3mm (1/4

) stereo
plug) here (page 11).

VOLUME knob
Use this to adjust the volume. Turn it right to increase and left
to decrease the volume.
o
To enable adjustment of this unit’s analog audio output
volume, set LINE OUT LEVEL to VARIABLE (page 26). This
will enable adjustment of the analog output level using this
unit’s VOLUME knob.
o
Volume settings are retained separately for analog audio
output and headphone output.

Display
This display shows information about the audio playing back
and menu screens.

Skip knob (

Use this to skip to the previous or next track (page 20).
When the menu screen is open
Use this to select setting values.
Press this to start or confirm setting value selection.

MENU button
Press this to enter setting mode (page 24).
Press this when in setting mode to return to the previous
screen.

SOURCE button
Use this to select the active input.
L
PLAY MODE button
Use this to switch between the ordinary, shuffle/random and
program playback modes.
