USE
•
Protective coating burn off will cause smoking on first use. This is NOT harmful and will
disappear after a short time.
•
When using for the first time, wipe the surface of the plates with a damp cloth.
•
Grease the plates with butter, margarine or cooking fat.
•
Close and plug in : the red and green pilot lights will come on to indicate that the
appliance is switched on.
•
The green pilot light will go off when the cooking temperature is reached (during use,
this ready light will come on and off regularly. This simply means that the thermostat is
regulating the appliance's temperature).
•
Open and pour the correct amount of cake batter inside the molds.
•
Close the appliance while cooking.
•
Your cakes will be baked in 10 to15 minutes or longer to suit your taste.
•
Open and remove the cakes using a plastic or wooden spatula. Never use a metal
knife as this may damage the non-stick coating.
•
When all the batter is baked, unplug and let completely cool down the appliance.
CLEANING
•
Before cleaning, unplug and wait for the appliance to cool down.
•
Wipe the outside only with a slightly moistened cloth ensuring that no moisture, oil or
grease enters the cooling slots.
•
Wipe the inside and the edges of the plate with a paper towel or a soft cloth.
•
Do not clean the inside or outside with any abrasive scouring pad or steel wool as this
will damage the finish.
•
Do not immerse in water or any other liquid.
HINTS AND RECIPE
•
Always preheat the appliance before use.
•
Flavoured butter may also be used to grease the plates.
•
Try to pour the same quantities in each molds for an even cooking time.
•
Do not open the lid during the 2 firsts minutes of the baking.
Chocolate Lava Cakes :
200 g dark chocolate
120 g butter
4 eggs
100 g sugar
1 package vanilla sugar
1 pinch of salt
80 g white flour
butter for the moulds
powdered sugar for serving

Melt chocolate and butter over warm water. Do not let get too hot.

Whisk sugar and eggs under the slightly cooled chocolate-butter.

Add flour, salt, and vanilla sugar and mix until smooth.

Fill the batter into the greased cake moulds and bake for appr. 10 minutes at highest
temperature. The shorter the baking time, the more liquid the cakes.
5.
Carefully remove the baking mould from the appliance and let it cool down slightly.
Remove the cake carefully from the moulds and serve still warm with powdered
sugar, vanilla ice cream, custard, and whipped cream to your taste.
