Setting the temperature:
Setting
the
temperature
is
only
a
recommendation and a kind of a guidance.
Perfect setting of the temperature requires
some tests and practice. The setting may
differ depending on where you work with the
iron or what type of a wax or skis it is.
When ironing down it is important to glide
the
iron
smoothly
over
the
base.
Overheating the polyethylene base can cause
its damage, or may even cause a structural
damage of skis by disrupting solidity of
glued ski layers. The actual temperature of
the
iron
of
about
140°C
gives
an
approximate ironing
temperature of about
110°C that is considered as a limit where
there is no damage of the base and a good
penetration of wax is ensured as well.
