The coffee grinder is only meant for grinding
coffee beans.
Before filling the hopper of the grinder with
coffee beans remove polystyrene insert
from the grinder’s interior.
KM/DOS: Before using the grinder, slide right
hand operation handle of dipsenser in the
utter backward position and/or left hand
handle in the utter forward position.
Check hopper for presence of foreign
objects before using. Never add anything
else to the beans as this may cause
damage to the grinder.
To prevent overheating of the motor:
Don’t grind longer than 1 minute each time.
Always leave space between sieve bottom
and ground coffee level.
To grind press button in front of the grinder.
Ground coffee is deposited in the
receptacle or coffee dispenser.
As a result of air-circulation the last few
coffee beans are being blown aloft in
the hopper. We advise to refill the hopper
before being completely empty.
The stainless-steel sieve of the coffee grinder
produces the right grain for the
filter grind method for use in our
Moccamaster coffeemakers.
KM/DOS:
see ‘Operating the Coffee
dispenser’ for futher instructions.
KM4 and KM4 TT:
After grinding take off
receptacle by turning to the left.
After having emptied receptacle put it
back in place by turning to the right.
Please use the measuring spoon for the
required amount of coffee.
English
Operating the Coffee grinder (KM4, KM4 TT and KM/DOS):
KM/DOS:
see ‘Operating the coffee grinder’
first to fill the dispenser with ground coffee.
DOS:
Before filling the reservoir, slide
right hand operation handle in the utter
backward position and/or left hand handle
in the utter forward position.
Fill reservoir with ground coffee. Max. 500
grs.
Put the filter holder of your coffee maker
with paper filter inside underneath the
dispenser opening in front.
Move right hand operation handle to the
utter forward position or left hand operation
handle to the utter backward position.
This movement is characterized by a clear
“click”.
This first stroke you have just completed will
not release coffee, but is necessary to fill the
inner mechanism.
From the second complete stroke
(remember from “click” to “click”) the
dispenser will release coffee in quantities of
one standardized measuring spoon.
If a full stroke is not completed, but say will
be stopped half way, half the quantity of
coffee will be released, but bear in mind
thatthe other half will be released first in the
next use, therefore always go from “click”
to “click” and adapt the amount of water
in your coffee maker to the “full spoon”
delivery of the dispenser.
The wiper which travels with each
dispensing stroke along the inside of the
reservoir is meant to keep clear visibility of
the contents inside the reservoir.
Do not completely empty reservoir before
refilling because this would disturb the first
“full spoon” delivery as you already know.
