Power Management 8-3
8.03 RESET CIRCUIT
8.03.1 EXTERNAL RESET CIRCUIT SWITCH
The VIPer can be reset by activating an external reset switch.
This switch should be connected between pin 13 (PBRES*) and pin 14 (GND) on the
Keyboard / Speaker Connector (J3).
This provides an easy and effective way of resetting the system.
See Section 4.04 for more information.
8.03.2 ONBOARD POWER DETECTION
An onboard device, which is part of the reset circuit, constantly monitors the voltage
which powers the board. Normally, the board is powered with 5V; if the supply voltage
drops below 4.65V (a typical threshold), the onboard circuitry will reset the VIPer board
and the system. This reset has the same effect on the system as the reset button.
