Audio/CODEC Configuration
To set Audio/CODEC configuration parameters:
1. In the vertical menu bar of the current VoIP Gateway Web page, select CODECS.
The Audio/CODEC Configuration page appears (
Figure 14-3
).
The VoIP Gateway supports G711 u-law and a-law standards by default. The user can set
the VoIP Gateway to also support one of the three voice coding standards: G723, G726 or
G729. Up to two ports will be allowed to use the selected option. The remaining ports (if
any) will support G711 u-law and a-law.
For every supported voice coding standard,
Silence Suppression
and
Echo Cancellation
are enabled.
Packetization
period is a multiple of 10 ms in the range 10 ms-100 ms,
except for G723 where 30 ms is used. The values that are actually used are negotiated
between the Call Agent and the VoIP Gateway.
2. Set the
Fixed Jitter Buffer
which is the fixed playout delay in milliseconds. You may
select
Adaptive Jitter Buffer
and set the maximum playout delay in milliseconds.
3. After setting Audio/CODEC Configuration parameters, click
Save CODEC
Configuration
to effect the changes.
