NOTES FOR USING GPS
GPS works best when used outdoors with a clear view of the sky and will not
work indoors in the majority of cases. Tall buildings and trees can block satellite
visibility which will reduce performance.
Do not wrap your hand around the phone as this will also reduce GPS antenna
sensitivity.
The Satellite Status signal bars indicate the number of satellites detected and
respective signal strengths. Ideally a minimum of 4 satellites should be acquired
for an accurate GPS location to be calculated. Accuracy depends on how many
satellites can be seen and their signal quality.
GPS location will take a long time to acquire (3-15 minutes) in the following
conditions:
a) GPS function is being used for the first time
b) GPS has not been used for more than one week
c) GPS is turned ON after travelling a long distance from your last GPS location
request (over 500km)
