6.2.1
Pacemaker
Pacemaker manufacturers recommend that a minimum
separation of 6in (20cm) should be maintained between a
wireless Mobile Phone and a pacemaker to avoid potential
interference with the pacemaker. These recommendations are
consistent
with
the
independent
research
by
and
recommendations of Wireless Technology Research. To minimize
the potential interference, persons with pacemakers should do as
below:
Always keep the device more than 6 in (20 cm) from their
pacemaker when the device is switched on.
Not carry the device in a breast pocket.
Hold the device to the ear opposite the pacemaker.
If you have any reason to suspect that interference is taking place,
switch off your device immediately.
6.2.2
Hearing aids
Some digital wireless devices may interfere with some hearing
aids. If interference occurs, consult your service provider.
6.2.3
Other medical devices
Operation of any radio transmitting equipment, including wireless
Mobile Phones, may interfere with the functionality of
inadequately protected medical devices. Switch off your Mobile
Phone in health care facilities when any regulations are posted in
these areas instructing you to do so.
