11.1 Firmware Upgrade/Downgrade
11.1.1 Firmware upgrade procedure
1. Download the latest firmware (FW) from
flir.com/tz20-R.
An upgrade will occur if the version number is
higher than the currently installed version.
2. Copy the file onto the Micro SD card using an USB-C cable or a Micro SD card reader.
3. With the TZ20-R powered on, wait about 5 seconds for the camera to boot and then insert the Micro SD
card into slot 1. Slot 2 may remain empty.
The update will occur if the power source can provide a constant 5V. Either the airframe or a
computer may be used to power the unit.
CAUTION:
Do not disconnect the power supply from Vue TZ20-R during the update
procedure, this may lead to a malfunctioned unit and will render the Vue TZ20-R unusable.
4. The Vue TZ20-R LED will blink purple during the upgrade.
5. The Vue TZ20-R will automatically power cycle. The LED will flash orange for power up then resume a
standard LED operation. The LED may continue flashing if only one Micro SD is inserted.
6. The update file (.ITM) will be automatically removed upon successful update.
11.1.2 Forced firmware downgrade procedure
1. Rename the desired firmware (FW) update file to “VueTZ20_I_V0.0.0.ITM”.
2. Copy the file onto the Micro SD card using an USB-C cable or a Micro SD card reader.
3. With the TZ20-R powered on, wait about 5 seconds for the camera to boot and then insert the Micro SD card
into slot 1. Slot 2 may remain empty.
The update will occur if the power source can provide a constant 5V. Either the airframe or a
