Select the network that you wish to connect to by clicking the cursor on the arrow
corresponding to “Nombre de la Red” There you will find a list of the networks
available, select the network that you wish to connect to. You can also key in the name
of the wireless network by hand. If you do choose to hand key in the network name, be
extremely careful as to not differ this name in any way as this could cause an error and
you will not be able to connect to your network.
The next parameter is to configure the network type. In a normal situation, you will
need to connect to an access point or Wireless Modem/Router. For this you click on the
“Punto de Acceso” mode. The “punto a punto” is to connect directly to another
wireless client. This will lead to a loss of connection with the Base Unit, consult chapter
2.2 “Types of Wireless Networks” for more information about the different types of
networks.
The last parameter of this screen is the operation speed. Your wireless network can
operate at four different speeds: 1Mbps, 2Mbps, 5,5Mbps and 11Mbps. You can either
specify the speed or opt for the speed to be automatic. This way the speed is always
fastest possible. In nearly all cases, it is better to select the mode “Automático”.
