Troubleshooting Guide
Follow these instructions if any of the systems on the MVU are not working
properly. If the problem cannot be solved or determined, please contact Tempest

Standard Time, Monday through Friday.
PROBLEM: The rotation system is not working.
1. The batteries may be low. The rotation system operates off the 24v
electrical system. It is not recommended to operate the rotation system
without the engine running.
2. The Locate/Remote switch is in the wrong mode. Check to make sure the
switch is set to the correct position.
3. The system has no continuity between the switch and the motor.
4. The switch is bad.
5. The electric drive motor is malfunctioning.
6. There is a loose wiring connection at the motor or motor rotation switch.
7. The fuse is burned out.
8. The relays may be defective.
PROBLEM: The scissors lift, yoke lift and fan tilt are not working.
The lift, yoke and tilt systems are separate in function but are the same in design.
Each system is controlled through a directional control valve to actuate the
extension and retraction of the cylinder.
POTENTIAL CAUSE: The electrical system.
1. The Locate/Remote switch is in the wrong mode. Check to make sure the
switch is set to the correct position.
2. The switch on the control panel or remote control is bad.
3. There is no continuity between the switch and the solenoids.
4. The solenoid valve is not shifting, bad coil.
5. There is a loose wiring connection.
6. The fuse is burned out.
7. The relays may be defective.
POTENTIAL CAUSE: The hydraulic system.
1. The solenoid valve is not shifting due to contamination or a defective
popit.
2. The hydraulic pump is not producing pressure.
3. A foreign object is blocking the movement of the cylinder or scissors.
4. A hose is badly kinked or pinched.
PROBLEM: The engine won’t start.
