8. Operation of Dolby Digital decoder
The default settings of the system are automatically (re-)established whenever
the system is disconnected from the mains supply (not when the unit is simply
switched off). Please note that the function AC-3 and PCM of DIGITAL MODE is
determined by the quality of the audio output.
8.1 Setting the audio input:
You can use the “Input” button (on the remote control) to select between analogue
or digital input signal. The DIGITAL MODE is automatically detected if the audio
source is digital. Select “Analogue” if you are using an analogue signal.
You can perform this setting on the decoder on with the “Mode” button. Press the
“Mode” button several times until “Input” blinks, then select between digital and
analogue signal using the upwards and downwards buttons.
If you have selected “AC-3”, “Pro Logic Auto On” lights in the display.
The decoder then automatically detects a received Pro Logic signal and changes
to Pro Logic mode.
You can deactivate this function by pressing the “Pro Logic Auto On” button on the
remote control. However, we recommend that you leave the function active.
8.2 Setting the loudspeakers
The surround system allows 4 different speaker settings and 2 different bass
configurations for the Dolby Digital system. The following diagrams serve
