8.Malfunction causes and solutions

Problem

Abnormal  vibration  or 
sound during operation.

The  buzzer  sound  does
not stop.

If a problem occurs while using the garbage disposer, refer to this section.
If that does not fix the problem. contact the Call Center (see page 23 for contact information).

The garbage disposer 
does not operate.

The plug is not securely in 

place.

The overload protection device 

is activated due to overloaded 

food waste or jamming caused 

by foreign objects.

The earth leakage circuit breaker 

on the distribution switchboard 

or the branch circuit breaker for 

the garbage disposer is off.

Electric leakage.

Metals,  glass,  plastics, 

or  other  foreign  objects 

were inserted.

A  large  amount  of  food 

waste  that  is  difficult  to

process,  such  as  raw 

octopus  and  squid,  was 

inserted.

T h e  r o t ating  blad e  is 

deformed due to jamming 

caused  by  rigid  foreign 

objects.

The power plug is out.

Insert the plug switch again 

with  the △ marking  aligned 

with the OFF position, and turn 

it right to the ON position.

Remove foreign objects.

(See page 14.)

Turn the plug switch to the  OFF  

position to stop the buzzer sound.

Then, clear the jam and press the 

reset button. 

(See pages 15〜17.)

The overload protection device 

is activated.

Remove items not to be inserted. 

Cut food waste that is difficult to 

process  into small pieces and 

insert a small amount together 

with other food waste.

Items not to be inserted or 

food waste that is difficult 

to process was inserted in 

large quantities.

The rotating blade needs 

to  be  replaced.  Contact 

the Call Center.

S t o p  using   t h e   g a r b a ge 

disposer  and  contact  our

Push up the latch of the earth 

leakage circuit breaker or the 

garbage  disposer  branch 

circuit breaker to tum it ON.

Insert the garbage disposer 

power plug into the outlet.

Clear the jam and press the 

reset button.

Food  waste  remains  in 
the grinding chamber.

The  △  marking  of  the  plug 

switch is at the  ON position.

Packing,  the  shaft  seal 

part,  etc.  are  consumable 

par ts.  Contact  the  Call

condition will cause the unit 

to malfunction.

Close  the  stop  cock  and 

d i s c o n t i n u e   u s e ,   a n d 

contact the Teral call center 

for service instructions.

The packing has deteriorated.

Waste  has  accumulated 

inside the electromagnetic 

valve.

T he  power  cable  o f  t he 

electromagnetic valve comes 

off from the control panel for 

the disposer. The strainer of 

the electromagnetic valve is 

clogged.

The  packing  needs  to  be 

replaced.  Contact  the  Call 

Center.

The packing has deteriorated.

Water  is  leaking  from  the 

shaft seal part.

Operate the garbage disposer 

approximately  once  a  week, 

even if there is no need to use 

it for a long period of time.

O p e r a t e   t h e   g a r b a g e 

disposer  and  process  the 

food waste.

Keep  the  plug  switch  at 

the  OFF  position  while 

the disposer is not used.

Waste has accumulated inside 

the grinding chamber after not 

using the garbage disposer for 

an extended period of time.
