Safety
Burn Hazards
Batteries contain acid.
Always wear protective
clothing and eye wear when
working with batteries.
Avoid spilling or contacting
battery acid. Neutralize
battery acid spills with baking
soda and water.
Explosion Hazards
Keep sparks, flames and
lighted tobacco away from
batteries. Batteries emit
explosive gas.
Work Area Safety
Electrocution Hazard
Avoid contact with electrical terminal.
Using the Charger (if equipped), be sure the device
works at 12 Volt and doesn't exceed 15 Ampere.
During maintenance or repair works, and while
welding, disconnect the battery by turning the cut-out
switch (see Inspection for Decals section).
Employer's Responsibilities
Employers are responsible for providing a safe
