7.5 Engine Oil Check
1.
Park the machine on level ground,
lower the lift arms, stop the engine
and remove the key.
2.
Open the hood to gain access to the
engine compartment.
3.
Locate and remove the engine oil
dipstick (1) from its tube. (fig. 7.5-1)
4.
Wipe the dipstick with a clean shop
cloth and reinsert it into the tube
until it comes to rest in its seated
position.
5.
Remove the dipstick once again and
inspect the end for oil on the level
indicator.
6.
Oil should be present on the dipstick up to, but not over the upper (full) level
indicator notch. If the level is correct, reinstall the dipstick and then close
and latch the hood to complete the procedure. (fig. 7.5-2)
7.
If the level is low, add the proper grade and viscosity engine oil and
re-check as necessary until the proper level has been achieved. Then
re-install the dipstick and filler cap and close and latch the hood to
complete the procedure.
