C-4 USING THE ROBOT
This chapter provides instructions for a safe use of the
robot.
DANGER
Always work on level and solid grounds with stabi-
lisers resting on the ground.
CAUTION
Take into account any possible hazardous conditions
of the working area before using the machine. Make
sure that there are no holes, foundation excavations,
moving banks or debris which can cause you to lose
the control of the machine.
CAUTION
Pay the greatest attention when working close to
electric lines. Check their position and ensure no part
of the machine operates at less than 6 meters from
the power lines.
DANGER
The robot is approved of for the lifting of 2 persons
or a maximum load of 200 kg. Any exceeding load
may result in damage to the structure.
DANGER
During operation, a second operator shall supervise
the work of the people aboard the platform and, in
an emergency, he must lower the robot platform to
the ground according to the specific procedure.
C-4.1
Switching the controls from handler to
platform
When the robot is correctly coupled to the handler and
ready to work, proceed as follows:
•
Move with the handler to the working site, lower the
stabilisers and level the machine checking its position
on the water level on the dashboard.
•
Unlock the counter-frame/turret rotation (only for
handlers of the GIROLIFT series).
•
Engage the parking brake.
CAUTION
For the models GIROLIFT 3514 and
GIROLIFT 5022, controls can be switched
to the platform only when the handler
control board remains ON.
•
Set the Cabin-Road-Platform switch to Platform,
and remove the key from the control board to use it
to get access to the platform control board.
•
Rotate the starting switch to the “Platform controls”
position.
•
Step into the platform, open the control board, insert
the (previously removed) key into switch
3
(fig. C9)
and rotate it to position
1
to enable the platform
controls.
CAUTION
The ground staff shall never leave the driving cab
unattended and must always be in contact with the
operator on the platform.
