Solution:
The flow rate should increase. The donor can react on the alarm
given by the antenna by squeezing his hands to raise the blood
flow.
Low flow rate alarm
Indicated by:
Touch screen: red indication ‘LOW FLOW’.
Clamp: stays locked.
Antenna: fast red flashing
Cause:
The flow rate has been lower than the flow rate limit, during a
longer time than the low flow time. Both settings are configured
in the running program.
Solution:
The flow rate should increase.
High flow rate alarm
Indicated by:
Touch screen: message ‘HIGH FLOW RATE’.
Clamp: closes automatically.
Antenna: fast red flashing.
Cause:
The flow rate was higher than the high flow limit, configured in
the currently running program.
Solution:
Possibly the venipuncture needle is inserted in an artery.
Precautions need to be taken to prevent the donor from losing
too much blood, fainting etc.
Depending on the setting ‘Cont high flow’, the donation can be
continued after a high flow rate alarm or not.
Donation finished: volume reached
Indicated by:
Touch screen: flashing message ‘DONATION FINISHED’.
Clamp: closes automatically.
Antenna: red flashing.
Cause:
The collection volume is reached.
Solution:
Press ‘Next’ to continue.
Donation finished: time reached
Indicated by:
Touch screen: flashing message ‘MAXIMUM TIME REACHED’.
Clamp: closes automatically.
Antenna: red flashing.
Cause:
The maximum donation time is reached.
Solution:
Press ‘Next’ to continue.
Post venipuncture flow delay exceeded
Indicated by:
Touch screen: message ‘PVFD. EXCEEDED’.
Clamp: closes automatically.
Antenna: fast red flashing.
Cause:
No blood flow was detected for a period of time longer than the
period of time defined in the
program setting ‘PVFlow. delay’.
Solution:
Depending on the program setting ‘Go PVFlow. de’, the donation
can be continued or not.
No tube in clamp
Indicated by:
Touch screen: message ‘NO TUBE IN CLAMP’.
Clamp: closes automatically.
Cause:
No tube was detected inside the clamp. This was checked by
closing the clamp for 15 seconds during donation. During the
check, weight was added to the tray.
