5.1.1
Emergency battery (only on T-RAC II Jr)
If the mains power is lost, T-RAC II Junior will detect this. The system will
automatically switch to battery power. In case of an ongoing donation, the battery will
allow the user to safely finish the donation.
This battery isn’t meant to replace the
power supply, it must only be used in emergencies. No donations can be started when
T-RAC II Junior is not connected to the mains.
The battery’s state can be monitored on the touch screen:
•
Emergency battery status OK. A donation can be ended in a safe way.
•
Emergency battery empty or broken.
Battery technology: NiMH (Nickel-metal hydride)
Terumo BCT advises to have the battery replaced each 4 years or if the battery icon
is red when working on mains power.
[WARNING] The emergency battery is part of T-RAC II Junior. Do not try to remove
or replace the emergency battery. Contact Terumo BCT for this kind of servicing.
5.1.2
High-energy batteries
The battery provides T-RAC II with a fully independent power source, especially useful for
mobile donations. When running on the battery, T-RAC II will work the same as if it was
connected to the mains.
The battery is inserted at the front of T-RAC II. Switch off the device before (re)placing the
battery, unless it is connected to the mains. If the device is connected to the mains, it does
not need to be switched off for (re)placing the batteries.
To place the battery:
1.
Push the battery forward into the battery
compartment.
2.
The battery will ‘click’ in
to place.
