4.3 Procedure For Switching The UPS Into a Maintenance Bypass From Normal Operation
This procedure should be followed when turning from normal operation to maintenance bypass. This
procedure can be used in giving temporary mains voltage to the system during the maintenance of the UPS
or in case of failure.
WARNING !!!
When the UPS is in maintenance bypass or in static bypass position, the loads that are
connected to the UPS output are not protected against voltage fluctuations or black outs in
the mains supply.
1.
Press on the UP or DOWN button until there is “COMMAND MENU” message on the front panel of
the UPS. Then press “ENTER” button.
2.
Press on the UP or DOWN button until there is “ENTER <BYPASS>” message on the front panel of
the UPS. Then press “ENTER” button for 3 seconds. L4 static by-pass led is lit and L6 inverter led is
turned off. Now your load is supplied via the Static By-pass switch.

Take out the lock from the
S3
(maintenance bypass) switch.
4.
Turn on (to “1” position) the
S3
(maintenance bypass) switch.
5.
Then turn off,
S1
(inverter input)
S2
(static bypass)
S4
(UPS output) switches and the battery circuit breaker, into “0” position.
WARNING!!!
Inside the UPS the following points will carry hazardous voltages.
* By-pass AC input mains terminals
* Maintenance by-pass switch
* Static by-pass switch
* UPS output terminals
Now you’re load is completely supplied by the maintenance by-pass and the
UPS is in turned off position..
WARNING!!!
During the maintenance or static by-pass the connected loads at the UPS output
can not be protected against the mains failure.
4.4 Procedure For Switching The UPS ON From a Maintenance By-Pass
Power Down Condition
1.
While the S3 switch is in closed position. (”1” position)
turn on the S2 (static bypass) and S4 (UPS output) Switches. (“1” position)
2.
Turn on the S1 (inverter input) switch. (“1” position)
3.
When “MAINT SWITCH ON!” message appears on the front panel, turn off (into “0” position) the S3
(maintenance by-pass) switch. By this way the load will be supplied by the bypass supply via the Static
bypass switch.
4.
See “STATUS NORMAL!” message on the front panel and the green inverter led is lit.
5.
Turn the battery circuit breaker to “1” position. Now the UPS system is in normal operation.
You can start-up your PC, printer etc.
