Assignments:
To check the assignment (wire order) in a cable, connect the-
cable being measured to the main tester and to the matching
socket on the receiver.
When testing RJ-45 cables, you can simply use the "M" and "S"
sockets on the main tester.
Press the "Enter" button to display the wire assignments on the
display.
Cable length:
To measure the cable length, connect the ends of the cable be-
ing measured to the main tester and to the receiver. For RJ-45
cables, you can simply use the "M" and "S" sockets.
Press the "Enter" key to display the individual lengths of the ca-
bles wires.
The length values can vary depending on the cable type. The
tester should first be calibrated to the type of cable in use. Refer
to the calibration section for more information.
Sampling:
During the sampling process, a signal is emitted on the con-
nected cable. The TB 26 cable tracer receiver then searches for
this signal in order to measure the distance.
Type:
In the "Type" menu, you can select from various cable types us-
ing the "Enter" button. The options are:
pair (8), tel (6), USB (4) and BNC (2).
The number of wires that are being tested is shown by the
numbers in parentheses.
