Operation
Thank you for purchasing the Testboy
®
TV 217.
The Testboy
®
TV 217 is intended for measuring systems of Category CAT III and for voltages that
do not exceed 600 V (AC or DC) in an earthed state.
Operation
Before taking a measurement, allow the instrument to acclimatize.
|
The user must comply with all the usual safety regulations when using this clamp meter.
|
The instrument can indicate gross errors if it is used in the vicinity of appliances that cause
interference or noise.
|
Only use the instrument as described in this manual; failure to do so could impair its protective
equipment.
|
Only use the instrument if the housing and clamp jaws are in a faultless condition.
|
To prevent damage to the instrument, do not exceed the maximum input values specified in
the technical data.
|
Pay attention to the function selection switch and make sure that it is set to the correct
position before each measurement.
|
Exercise especial caution when performing tasks on naked conductors or busbars
(wear protective clothing if necessary).
|
Any inadvertent contact with the conductor can result in an electric shock.
|
Exercise caution when working with voltages greater than 60 V DC or 30 V AC RMS. Such
voltages pose a danger of an electric shock.
|
The clamp must first be removed from the circuit to be tested before switching to other
functions.
|
Ensure that your fingers are behind the safety ring during measurement.
|
To avoid incorrect measured values: Change the batteries when the
symbol appears.
|
Ensure that the test instrument is in faultless condition before each measurement. Test the
function using a known, functioning power source before using the instrument.
|
Always discharge the capacitances and disconnect the instrument to be tested from the power
supply before performing diode, resistance or continuity measurements.
|
Insecure connections with the installed electrical contacts mean that voltage tests performed
on sockets can pose problems and produce misleading results. Additional measures should
therefore be taken to ensure that the lines are not live.
|
Exercise caution when working in the vicinity of exposed accessible conductors or busbars.
Use personal protective equipment.
|
Do not use a current measuring sensor with visible wear on the clamp.
