stereo.
With stations that have too weak a signal, this may result
in unpleasant noise. If this is the case, switch to MONO
by briefl y tipping the button

Radio data system (RDS)
With the radio data system (RDS), radio stations broad-
cast music as well as additional information in the FM/
USW range that is analysed by the radio, for example, in
order to display the station name on the display fi eld.
By means of repeatedly pressing the button

RDS, you can consecutively access the following RDS
information on your display :
Station name– Programme type– Time – Radio text
Station name (PS)
If the selected station broadcasts RDS signals, the station
name will appear on the display fi eld after a short time.
Programme type (PTY)
This displays what kind of programme is being broadcast
(see the adjacent table). Unfortunately, not all radio sta-
tions use this service.
Time (CT)
The exact time is transferred once every minute, for which
reason the message “WAITING CT” appears on the
display fi eld until the time is received.
Radio text (RT)
Additional information on the programme is transferred in
the radio text. This may be the title and artist performing
a piece of music or other short messages.
