1. 

Picture Mode

Set the type of picture material to auto or movie.

“Auto” changes the setting to automatic recognition 

 

of the picture or movie (factory setting).
“Movie” sets the type to movie.

 

Aspect Ratio

Set the aspect ratio of the connected television.

“4:3” changes the aspect ratio to 4:3 (Factory set-

 

ting).
“16:9” sets the aspect ratio to 16:9 (modern fl at-

 

screen monitors have 16:9 picture formats).

Remarks

 

Widescreen DVDs are shown with a black bar on the 
top and bottom of a 4:3 television.
The setting “16:9” produces a distorted picture on a 
4:3 television.

Video Mode

Setting the picture display.

“Fill” enlarges the picture until the width or height 

 

are completely fi lled.
“Original” uses the original setting (only DivX/

 

MPEG).
“Auto Fit” adjusts the picture width (factory setting).

 

“Pan & Scan” adjusts the picture height.

 

 

4. 

TV System

Set the colour standard of the connected television.

“NTSC” sets the standard to NTSC.

 

PAL content is played with the resolution and frame 
rates of NTSC.
“PAL” sets the standard to PAL.

 

NTSC content is played with the resolution and 
frame rates of PAL (factory setting).
“Multi” is the correct setting for a multistandard 

 

television. A security question to be answered with 
“Yes” or “No” will appear when switching.

Video out 

Set the default output jack.

“S video” sets the standard output jack to S video.

 

“Component” sets the standard output jack to Y/Pb/

with progressive scan.
“HDMI” sets the standard output jack to HDMI (fac-
