Never try to split logs larger than the recommended log size capacity. Logs must be
free from nails or wires, which may fly up or damage the machine. The log must be cut
square in the end and remove also all branches from the trunk. Always cut the log in
direction of its grain. Do not place the log across the splitter it may damage the splitter.
Never force the log splitter in more than 5 seconds with the cylinder under pressure
when you try to cut excessively hard wood. Overheated oil may damage the machine
under pressure. Stop the machine. Rotate the log 90 degrees and try again. If the wood
still cannot be split it means that the wood’s hardness exceeds the capacity of the
machine and it must be rejected in order not to damage the log splitter.
Special warnings when using this log splitter
Hydraulic systems.
Never use the machine if there is a leakage in the hydraulic system. Before using the log
splitter, check for hydraulic leaks. Be sure that the tool and your work area is clean and
free of oil spills. Hydraulic fluid can create hazards causing you to slip and fall, your hands
to slip while using the machine or cause a fire hazard.
Electric safety.
Never operate the machine if there is a fault in the electric system. Never operate a log
splitter in wet conditions. Never operate this tool with an improper electrical cord or
extension cord. Never operate this tool unless you are able to plug it into a properly
grounded outlet which supplies power as stated on the type tag and is protected by a 16
Amp circuit disconnector.
Physical dangers.
Log splitting creates special physical hazards. Never operate this tool unless you are
wearing proper safety gloves, hard-toed shoes and approved eye protection etc. Watch
out for splitters in order to avoid puncture, injury and jamming the tool. Never try to split
logs which are too large or small to fit properly into the tool. Never attempt to split logs
containing nails, wires or other debris. Clean up as you work, accumulated split wood and
wood chips can create a hazardous work environment. Never continue to work in a
cluttered work area which may make you slip, trap or fall. Keep spectators away from the
tool and never allow unauthorized persons to operate this tool.

. No list of warning can include everything. The operator must use common sense
and operate the log splitter in a safe manner.

: As with all machinery, there are certain hazards involved with the operation and
