Pitot-Static CAS Message Check
WARNING: Heated pitot tubes can get very hot and can cause serious burns. Avoid
contact with fully heated pitot tubes. Make sure there is adequate
cooling time before handling.
CAUTION:
Do not leave pitot-static heaters on for more than 1 minute. This will help
prevent damage to aircraft and component.
CAUTION:
Make sure that all pitot covers, air data test equipment and vinyl tape are
removed.
A.
Do the pitot-static CAS messages test procedures.
(1)
Make sure any pitot probe covers are removed.
(2)
Put the circuit breakers in the positions shown in Table 601 and Table 602.
(3)
On the right switch panel put the PITOT STATIC HEAT 1 and PITOT STATIC HEAT 2 switches
to the ON position.
(a)
Make sure the CAS messages that follow do not show on the PFD:
•
P/S COLD L
•
P/S COLD R
•
P/S COLD STBY.
(4)
On each of the landing gear electrical test boxes put the SQUAT SWITCH to the IN AIR position.
(5)
On the left circuit breaker panel in the cockpit disengage the L PITOT STATIC circuit breaker
and make sure that:
(a)
The P/S COLD L (amber) CAS message shows on the PFD CAS window.
(b)
The MASTER CAUTION annunciator switch/light comes on.
(6)
Push the MASTER CAUTION annunciator switch/light.
(a)
The light goes off.
(b)
The P/S COLD L (amber) CAS message stays on.
(7)
On the left circuit breaker panel in the cockpit disengage the R PITOT STATIC circuit breaker
and make sure that:
(a)
The P/S COLD R (amber) CAS message shows on the PFD CAS window.
(b)
The MASTER CAUTION annunciator switch/light comes on.
(8)
Push the MASTER CAUTION annunciator switch/light.
(a)
The light goes off.
(b)
The P/S COLD R (amber) CAS message stays on.

On the left circuit breaker panel in the cockpit disengage the STBY PITOT STATIC circuit breaker
and make sure that:
(a)
The P/S COLD STBY (amber) CAS message shows on the PFD CAS window.
(b)
The MASTER CAUTION annunciator switch/light comes on.
(10) On the right switch panel put the PITOT STATIC HEAT 1 and PITOT STATIC HEAT 2 switches
to the OFF position.
(a)
Make sure that you let the pitot probes and static ports cool before you handle them.

Pitot-Static Heater Emergency Power Test
A.
Do the Pitot-Static Heater Emergency Power Test Procedures.
CAUTION:
Before you do the pitot-static heater emergency test Make sure that the
pitot and static probes have cooled down to ambient temperature.
(1)
On the ELECTRICAL POWER switch panel put the BATTERY switch to the EMER position.
(2)
On the right switch panel put the PITOT STATIC HEAT 1 and PITOT STATIC HEAT 2 switches
to the ON position.
(3)
On the left circuit breaker panel in the cockpit engage the R PITOT STATIC circuit breaker.
