MAG-500 MAGNETOMETER - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

General
A.
This section has procedures to remove and install the MAG-500 Magnetometer (UR062).
For
a general description of the magnetometer, refer to L3Harris Electronic Flight Display System -
Description and Operation.

Tools and Equipment
A.
For a list of the necessary tools and equipment, refer to Navigation - General.
3.
MAG-500 Magnetometer Removal/Installation
A.
Remove the MAG-500 Magnetometer (Refer to Figure 401).
(1)
Remove external electrical power from the airplane.
(2)
Make sure that the BATTERY switch and the STBY FLT DISPLAY switch on the ELECTRICAL
POWER switch panel in the cockpit are at the OFF position.
(3)
Disengage the STBY FLT DISPLAY circuit breaker on the left circuit breaker panel in the cockpit.
(4)
Remove wing access panel 642GB to get access to the magnetometer (UR062). Refer to
Chapter 6, Access Plates and Panels Identification - Description and Operation.
(5)
Disconnect the electrical connector (JR062) from the magnetometer electrical connector.
(6)
Remove the screws that attach the magnetometer to the mounting bracket.
(a)
Remove the magnetometer from the airplane.
B.
Install the MAG-500 Magnetometer (Refer to Figure 401).

Put the magnetometer (UR062) in its position on the mounting bracket in the right wing.
(a)
Install the screws that attach the magnetometer to the mounting bracket.
(2)
Do an electrical bond check (Type I) between the magnetometer and the mounting bracket.
Refer to the Citation Standard Practices Manual, Chapter 20, Electrical Bonding and Grounding
- Maintenance Practices.
(3)
Connect the electrical connector (JR062) to the magnetometer electrical connector.
(4)
Engage the STBY FLT DISPLAY circuit breaker on the left circuit breaker panel in the cockpit.
(5)
Install wing access panel 642GB. Refer to Chapter 6, Access Plates and Panels Identification -
Description and Operation.
(6)
Do the MAG-500 Magnetometer Calibration Procedure. Refer to Chapter 34, L3Harris Electronic
Flight Display System - Adjustment/Test.
